Thermal therapy

Peat is a substance that has been established for centuries. Despite many discoveries and researches of the recent times it has not been overcome. Peat baths were used in the ancient Greece. They have been practiced in Central Europe for more than two centuries, especially in people who suffer from rheumatic illnesses, arthritis, muscular contracture, gynaecological illnesses, or people who need their scars to heal faster, who undergo atopic eczema treatment, psoriasis treatment etc. The present-time peat preparations are used to treat all kinds of illnesses and sport-related injuries in many fields, from dermatology to cosmetics.

One of the major effects of peat is its thermal effect. When warmed up, the heat is distributed via emission, transfer and conduction. If compared with the heat storage capacity of water, thermal inertia of peat is 5.15 times longer, which is supported by significantly deep peloid thermal effect. This quality is used in dry heat treatment when peat body heater is used.

It has been proven that peat baths have positive effects on kinetic apparatus illnesses, in case of gynaecologic illnesses, neurological or civilisation illnesses, and they help in the treatment of psoriasis, atopic eczema or acne. They also relieve stress and regulate sleeping disorders and they regenerate organism.
